Happenings

Now that school is officially done, I can catch up on this! Here are the belated ultrasound pictures that I promised...Well, it looks like Alex removed the jump drive from the computer bag that held the pictures. Maybe some other time.
My second doctor's appointment went well, although it was not as exciting as the first. We got to hear the heartbeat though! It was about 164 beats a minute, which is apparently normal for someone so young.
I turned 22 this past month! Craziness! I feel like it's all down hill from here. haha. I don't have any more milestones to look forward to, except for the hills. Alex gave me earrings two nights beforehand and pretended that was my only gift. Since, he usually does more than that, I was a little disappointed, but glad to save the money. The next day, I came home to a Wii system set up in my living room! I wasn't completely in love with it before, but I am now! We bowl on Thursday nights and he had a friend bring me one of those cookie cakes from Mrs. Fields and another friend bought me balloons! It was fabulous.
This past weekend, I graduated from the University of Arizona! For the first time in 17 years, I am not a student. I am now the proud recipient of a bachelor's degree!!! It will be so refreshing to only work full-time. Here are some pictures from the big day...
This is me with my parents and grandma. Alex was there, but looking back, we didn't take many pictures. I had more family and friends there, but different cameras captured different things and apparently the person who had ours was not very snap happy.

This is Shelly! We sat together during the university wide commencement and endured the loud and obnoxious intoxicated people behind us (one of whom used my shoulder as a footrest twice, but I guess I can't blame her because after all, she was unconscious). Who comes to their own graduation completely drunk?! Do you not want to remember it in the morning? Some things I will never understand.

On another happy note, I thought I'd leave you with some pictures of my little belly! They are practically all in walgreens attire because I am constantly remembering to take a picture right before I run out the door to work.
This is the very first picture I took.

Here I am at 14 weeks. My belly is more prominent in maternity dresses, one of which I look about 6 months pregnant in! ah!

Ultrasound

Yesterday I went to the doctor for the first time and she did a vaginal ultrasound to make sure things were ok and that my due date was correct. Everything is perfect! Ultrasounds are so amazing. I was holding my breath at first for fear that she wouldn't find anything in there, but I was so relieved when she picked it up! It's the cutest little peanut I've ever seen! I cannot WAIT for May 12...my next appt. I'm just glad that everything's ok and that I finally have 7 cute pictures of the little guy. Once I figure out how to connect my printer to my new laptop, I'll post them!

BBQ

Sometimes I really hate blogger. I have a hard enough time figuring this thing out and then I finally get pictures going in the right direction in all the right places and what happens? It has an error when I try to post it. ugh. I was saying that last night Alex and I decided to put the BBQ pit in our complex to good use. We marinated steaks all day and they were delicious on the grill. Take a look at these:

Here's a slanted picture of us as I try to take it with one hand...

We also recently got a digital camcorder on a great deal at Sears! The other exciting thing that is going on is that today we found out that we're pregnant!! I couldn't be more thrilled.

A long drought...

I haven't blogged in awhile, mainly because I don't have any cute pictures of kids to post! Life seems to go on about the same for me. I had jury duty for the first time last week and really enjoyed it. I liked the judicial system so much, that I'm considering going to law school! I graduate from UA in May and I couldn't be more excited. Alex and I started looking into different grad schools. When he finishes in 2010, we'll most likely move, establish residency, and pray that we both get into the same school for in-state tuition! But, we'll see what the Lord has planned for us.
We got another cat! I haven't taken any good pictures of her yet because she's extremely shy, but when I do, I'll put them up. Her name is Sammie and we got her from the Humane Society! We are starting to work on our condo again and have bought the electrical supplies we'll need for the master bedroom/bath and some for the rest of the house. I can't wait to have something done! Remodeling is only exciting when you have the money to do it.
Well, that's about it! I'll try to do a better job of updating you on my not-so-interesting life!

A Long Time In Coming

Here are some pics of our new condo from about 2 months ago, so believe me it looks better than this, but not as much as you'd think. I am so overwhelmed by everything that I have to do that I end up doing nothing. It's a horrible cycle. Here's our living room, but it's not our TV. :( We do however, have 4 TVs now, so if anyone would like one, you have a decent selection here with us.
Underneath all of the boxes is our dining room floor. The height of the boxes has gone down, but not away. One day it will all be done.
Sorry, I forgot to flip this picture...this is obviously our kitchen and no, we have not started drinking. We still had a roommate at this time and this was his form of decoration. Look at my beautiful, new stove!
This is our functional bathroom. Notice the bucket on the toilet. We were having a wonderful water leak from upstairs...boy do I love this place!

Our other bathroom is gutted and needs some serious attention. We plan on knocking some walls out, putting in a new shower, tile, toilet, and vanity. I've decided that remodeling is only fun when you have the money to do it.

As a whole, we are going great! Alex got a 2nd job at Holiday Inn Express and I am interviewing at Bank of America, which could either become a second job or we take a drastic cut in hours for me...I can't wait for school to be behind us! Life has to get easier after that...I'm hoping...

No Internet

So, in order to save some cash, we opted not to have internet at home. We either use it at school or go to Border's and thus I have been slacking on updating this thing. I found my camera and I took pics, but I don't have them with me. :( I'll have to put them on my jump drive. That thing is my new best friend! haha. Life is going well down here. We've had some rough weeks, but I know that my challenges are small in comparison to others and I'm grateful for that. Alex got a 2nd job working at Holiday Inn Express 2 nights a week. It's bittersweet because I miss him, but it will definitely help pay the bills. I am so excited to graduate in...8 months!! The countdown begins...

Return to Childhood?

I wish it was possible to return to a time when I didn't have to worry how bills were going to be paid, stupid HOAs, and neighbors who can't mind their own business. Life was so much easier then and I definitely took it for granted. I don't want to be an adult anymore...
