Eclectic

I just have to say that I absolutely love being a mother.  I wake up everyday excited to see that little boy smiling back at me.  My favorite part is getting him out of his crib because he's always so happy in the morning!

Ben is reaching for and grabbing toys now!  It is so much fun to play with him.  He tried to roll over last weekend, but got stuck on his side and hasn't given it much of a thought since.  We see the doctor on wednesday for his 4 month checkup and I am excited to see how much he weighs!  I think he's ready to start some rice cereal soon, too.  I want to primarily make my own baby food.  Anyone have any thoughts or tried and true recipes?  I'd much rather have him eat the fresh stuff than something off the shelf that lasts for 2 years.

Our garden is thriving!  Everything we planted is coming up!  I can't wait to taste them.  I have to be much more patient for that though.

I'm trying to put more of an emphasis on exercise.  I was really motivated once January came around and I got the go ahead from my doc, but I haven't had the time to do it as intensely as I would like.  I was pretty good about walking with Ben in the stroller everyday for awhile and then we got a lot of rain and I was thrown out of my routine.  Now I am trying the wii fit and I walk/jog on the treadmill when I can.  Hopefully I can lose some weight!

Ben just woke up from his nap...

Oh How Our Garden Grows!

Last week we planted a garden.  Oh the joys of living in a house!  In a few weeks/months we'll have onions, carrots, corn, potatoes, tomatoes, strawberries, and a bell pepper!  I am SO excited.  I have always wanted a garden but I have yet to see anything grow under my care, so luckily I am not the one watering them and they seem to be doing just fine.

Here are some strawberries!

A future tomato...

A bell pepper for Alex

Corn and Potatoes

Onions, Strawberries, Garlic, and Beets

We go outside every morning to see what new little green stem might be growing!
On another note, I think my son likes the sights and sounds of the TV...
